Kay Davis is a retired elementary school teacher. She’s also a veteran firearms instructor, teaching for several years before she came to us.
We met her on the Appleseed trail, where she was teaching rifle shooting skills and American heritage for Project Appleseed.
She’s the better half of another instructor of ours, Steve Davis. Steve tells us Kay was the driving force for the two of them to learn how to teach firearm training and it all began with the Appleseed rifle program.
We saw she was very good with people and a respected and admired instructor among her peers – and that’s a rarity among men and certainly a diamond in the rough to find a female instructor so talented and widely respected. So, it was logical that we invited her to join our team after she got to know us.
Today, Kay still teaches with Project Appleseed as one of their instructors. She’s also a U.S. Rifleman’s Association certified rifle and pistol instructor.
She also holds NRA certifications in Rifle, Pistol and Personal Protection in the Home.
She’s also an Illinois State Police-approved Illinois CCW instructor.
And while most of our instructors are very much into the preparedness lifestyle, Kay is certainly a subject matter expert in that field as well.
